When I first set up my blog, I removed all superfluous gadgets so that the page was not too cluttered. I also adjusted the width of the sidebar so the it did not take up too much space and make the main page area too small and difficult to read.
I also arranged the sidebar gadgets in a way that seemed logical and easy for navigation, with the search bar at the top and most obvious, followed by Popular Posts and then Labels.

Blog Exercise 12– changing the colour/ background of your blog
I changed the background of my blog to be "library" themed and selected a colour from the "Suggested Colours" list for my blog title.
I also changed the post title format to Bold, but did not make any further changes.
