Investigative Exercise 9: Community Profiles

Blacktown City Libraries

My local government area (LGA) is Blacktown, in Sydney's west, which is serviced by the Blacktown City Libraries. The LGA has a population of 332,424, making it the largest LGA by population in NSW. 

37.6% of the population was born overseas and 36.9% speak a language other than English. After English, the most commonly spoken languages are Filipino/Tagalog, Hindi, Arabic, Punjabi and Samoan.
